Default Manufacturing

I'm staring work with a company making figures for board games. We are looking for contacts for manufacturing companies that can help with reproducing and casting pieces in both metals and plastics. We will being doing the CAD and waxes here and then sending them off for manufacturing. Does anyone have any suggestions for this type of work. Thanks,

David

Well, the big question is whether you want to manufacture in the US or go overseas.

For small metal castings you can still find several pewter casting companies in the US that run centrifugal casting machines.
You can affordably cast white metal, like monopoly game pieces, or true pewter, which has zinc and is more ductile and bright.

Companies such as New England Pewter, And Starlite Originals, still do casting in the US- although for large orders Starlite subs the casting out to a Chinese company

You can go direct to China, or thru a broker in Hong Kong to get pewter casting... as well as small injection mold products such as styrene or vinyl.

Just a correction Sculptingman and no offense intended, but white metal/pot metal is zinc based and pewter is a tin based alloy. I think you got them switched around, they're sometimes both referred to as "white metal" casting.

Good suggestions though, I cast centrifugally for 20 years and even though the industry has been hammered by offshore competition, there's still a bunch of casters out there.

Thanks for those suggestions. I think initially they want to do the plastic pieces first and if we can find someone who does both plastic and white metal casting that would be great. Not sure if they have a preference for keeping in the US or not. Personally I would try to, but I think they are open.
